As scented candles burn down, all that wax has to go somewhere. Laws of Matter require it to. Is it going into my lungs like tar from a cigarette? Am I getting a paraffin build-up in my lungs? If no, then why not?
Wax can’t stay in the container it is in, it is burned off. Hence the smell and the smaller candle.

The wax stays in the container it’s in. Unless you’re smoking the candle, then it won’t go into your lungs.
The wax is fuel. It is burned and the scent that was mixed in the wax gets burned too. What you’re smelling is what was mixed into the wax.
