Go to a local craft store and buy scented wax crystals. Last time I went to Michael’s they had cinnamon and vanilla but more might exist at craft stores. Anyway, you then melt the waz crystals and pour them into the container that you want the candle in. You wait until the wax hardens a bit and insert the wick in the middle. You could also put more than one wick into the candle to make it burn better. You will notice that as the wax hardens it will curve down in the middle of the container so, add more wax and let it cool. And there you have your first scented candle!

Go to a craft store (I get my wax and scents from AC Moore) and get wax. There are many different types you can choose from: soy, beeswax, organic, or ‘plain’. Buy a candle mold, unless you already have one, or you have a small nonflammable container you’re using (i use mini pails and buckets). Then choose your scent. You can buy liquid scents specifically for candles at craft stores, or you can go to an aromatherapy store and probably have a greater variety. Melt the wax according to the directions that come with it (i use microwavable soy wax, it works very well and is fast!). Once the wax is melted, you can add the scent, and there you go! A wonderful candle.

All craft stores have the materials and instructions. I remember making candles when i was a kid in the 70′s and it was all about the shape. Now it’s all about the scent!
