We all know that a fire can start by a lot of different things, but there are some places that you do not think would be a very big place for a fire to happen in. There are five reasons that a fire is most likely to occur. They are electrical, smoking, candles, heating devices, and fireplaces.

Never underestimate electrical appliances as not being something that could not start a fire. As there is no flame, you could have the over warming of plugs and sockets or maybe a blown fuse. Any of these can start a fire. Of course any time there is smoke, there is usually fire and all that has to happen is that a smoker didn’t put his cigarette out completely or someone accidentally falling asleep with his cigarette in his hand. If a fire should break out because of a candle, it would be a complete accident because most of the time a draft from a window or tilting candle can drop hot wax or send embers to land on your carpet or clothes and will cause a fire to start.

Did you know that you could have a fire start in the kitchen, bedroom, basement, or even in the attic or the garage? These are places that most people wouldn’t even think about as to having a fire start there. If you have a kitchen fire, it most likely was started by grease in a fry pan. Add electricity and water with this grease, and you will most likely have a blazing fire that will be hard to put out. Most of these types of fire can’t be put out by water. In your bedrooms, a fire could be caused by overloading extension cords the plug from a faulty heater or even that electric blanket that you have on your bed.

Your attic, basement, and garage might not be good storage places, especially if you have gas cans. Old clothes, papers, and other flammable liquids might be set aflame if someone walks into the room and lights a cigarette, not realizing the possibility of setting the room on fire. As with heating devices or even fireplaces, these could start a fire just from having a small spark fly out into a pile of your clothes, and you would have a really big fire. You should really have screens put up around both of these items so as not to have these sparks fly out of them.
